Carefully
follow instructions for hanging paintable
wallcoverings.
Let surface dry for at least 24 hours
after hanging. Apply low tack painter´s
tape to the ceiling and all trim molding.
Steps for a Decorative Finish
1. Prime the dried
surface with a coat of latex primer,
which you may tint to the base coat
color, if desired.
2. Apply a base coat
of silver latex metallic paint. Let
dry thoroughly.
3. Mix 1 tbsp. universal
tint, Raw Umber into 1 qt. of clear
latex glazing liquid such as McCloskey,
`Special Effects´ or Valspar,
`Decorative Effects.´ (Use more
of the raw umber tint to create a
darker antique effect.) Roll onto
the silver-coated wallpaper. Using
a large wad of cotton rags, lightly
wipe off the glaze in a circular motion,
making sure that your fingers do not
make a pattern in the glaze. (It‘s
easier if one person rolls on the
glaze and a second person wipes it
off. This prevents stop/start marks.)
Hint: If this treatment
is used on a wall rather than on a
ceiling, you may wish to seal the
surface with a final coat of high
gloss latex water base sealer which
should be applied with a brush or
lamb‘s wool applicator to prevent
bubbling.
